How long does a charter last? |
|
| |
Up to 5 hours or limit.. Morning Trips are from 6 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Afternoon Trips are from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m |

How many people can attend a charter? |
|
| |
No more than 6 people on a boat. If your party is larger, several boats can be chartered at the same time. |
|

Do I need to have a fishing license? |
|
| |
Yes. Depending on where we fish you may need to have either a Michigan or an Ohio fishing license. It is best to purchase the license at the Marina. Talk to the captain before you purchase your license. |

Is a deposit required in order to book the trip? |
|
| |
Yes, if you want to reserve a specific day a $100 deposit is required. |

How far in advance should I reserve a charter? |
|
| |
It is best to book your charter as soon as possible. Prime dates get booked very quickly. We do accept walk ups and last minute bookings if the charter is available. |

When is the fishing season? |
|
| |
May – September. End of May, June, and beginning of July are good for walleye fishing. August and September are good for perch fishing |

Is the captain licensed? |
|
| |
Yes, Captain Lee Durham is a USCG Licensed Captain and has over 30 years experience. He is also a WBCBA and MCBA Member |

What should I bring on the charter? |

What if I've never fished before? |
|
| |
Captain Lee has over 30 years of experience fishing. During walleye season the Top Gun is set up for trolling. It is easy for clients to catch fish. |

How many fish can I take home? |
|
| |
In Ohio waters the limit is 6 walleye and 25 perch person. In Michigan waters the limit is 5 walleye and 50 perch per person. |

What if I get motion sickness? |
|
| |
It is a good idea to bring medicine with you for motion sickness. |
|

Are there places to lodge near the Top Gun? |
|
| |
Yes, the Super 8 motel in Luna Pier gives a 10% discount to all Top Gun Customers. |

Do I have to wear a life vest? |
|
| |
A life vest is not required however the Top Gun has US Coastguard approved life vests for every customer on board. |

Do you have fish cleaning facilities? |
|
| |
The fish house at Luna Pier Harbour will clean your walleye for a nominal fee. There are nearby places that will clean your perch. |
